ANIMAL CARE

Course Description: A tailored one year course embracing animal welfare and grooming supplying a definite niche market in the area. The course is further advantaged by the fact that it has access to an adjacent commercial farm providing hands on access to both livestock and bloodstock from birth to maturity - a unique exposure for any course of its type in ireland. This course should be any pet/animal lover's dream.
Targeted Groups: School leavers, mature students, unemployed students on deferred entry to third level education or graduates who wish to enhance their employment prospects. Special provision is made for mature students wishing to enter or re-enter the labour market.

NURSING STUDIES
This is a one-year course for students who are considering a career in nursing. Leaving Certificate is desirable though not essential.

Career Opportunities: Students participate in work placement in a variety of Nursing and Health Areas including Hospitals, Psychiatric Hospitals, Special Needs Schools, Homes for the Elderly, Rehab Centres, Hospices and Respite Care Centres. Employment opportunities may arise from this placement.
  The course does not guarantee placement in Nursing Degree Courses but students who obtain a distinction in five specified modules may obtain entry to Degree Courses.
